Navigating the Interface

This page walks you through the main areas of the Campus WoL interface so you can find what you need quickly.

Layout Overview

The interface has three main areas:

  • Header bar — Shows the application name and your logged-in username
  • Sidebar (left) — Navigation menu with all available views
  • Main content area (center) — Displays the selected view

Dashboard Layout

The sidebar is divided into three sections:

Main

Available to all logged-in users:

  • Dashboard — System overview with summary cards
  • Network Monitor — Raw network scan results (admin-only endpoint)
  • Lab Status — At-a-glance classroom readiness with online/total device counts
  • Discovery — View and manage discovered network devices

Sites & Classrooms

A dynamic, expandable tree showing all sites and their classrooms. Click a site to expand it, then click a classroom to view its devices with online/offline status indicators.

Administration

Role Required: Admin

This section is only visible to users with the Admin role.

  • Inventory — Manage devices across all classrooms
  • Users — Create and manage user accounts
  • Schedules — Set up automatic wake schedules
  • Audit Log — View the history of all actions taken in the system
  • Security Center — Security overview, login history, and password management

Dashboard Cards

The Dashboard displays summary cards with key information at a glance:

  • Total Sites — Number of configured sites (buildings)
  • Total Classrooms — Number of registered classrooms
  • Total PCs — Number of managed devices
  • Active Schedules — Number of enabled wake schedules
  • Recent Activity — Latest actions performed in the system
  • Wake Failures — Devices that failed recent wake attempts (requires Operator or Admin role)

Identifying Your Role

Your username is displayed in the header bar. The views and actions available to you depend on your assigned role (Viewer, Operator, or Admin). If you cannot see a section or perform an action, it may be restricted to a higher role. Contact your administrator if you need additional access.

Logging Out

To log out, click the Logout button in the header bar. This ends your session immediately.
