Campus WoL Documentation

Campus WoL lets you remotely power on classroom computers and control BenQ displays across campus from a web browser. It is designed for IT staff, teachers, and lab assistants who need to manage devices across multiple classrooms and buildings.

Key Capabilities

  • Wake devices — Power on individual PCs, entire classrooms, or all devices at a site with a single click
  • Schedule wake jobs — Set up automatic wake schedules using cron expressions (e.g., "every weekday at 7 AM")
  • Discover devices — Scan the network to find new devices and add them to your managed inventory
  • Monitor status — See which devices are online or offline in real time
  • Audit trail — Every action is logged with timestamps and user information for accountability

Roles

Campus WoL uses three roles to control what each user can do:

  • Viewer — Can view dashboards, device status, and Lab Status (read-only)
  • Operator — Everything a Viewer can do, plus wake operations and discovery result viewing
  • Admin — Full access to all features including inventory management, user administration, and system configuration

For the full permissions breakdown, see Role-Based Access Control.
